First Spring mowing tip For your first time mowing this season make sure to mow your grass short without scalping. This will help remove winter debris and dormant grass. Snow mold alert!!! Snow mold is going to be a major problem this spring. The best thing you can do is gently rake out the matted down areas with a leaf rake. This will allow the area to dry out and help keep the fungus from spreading. A spring application of fertilizer will also help along with spring growth. It may take several weeks for the affected areas to completely grow out.
